Tens of thousands of passengers had no choice on Friday but to change their travel plans and not blow up in anger. The service union Ver.di had called for walkouts at the airports in Düsseldorf, Cologne, Stuttgart and Karlsruhe in order to increase the pressure on employers in the collective bargaining round. Around 580 flights were canceled by midday.
