WELT AM SONNTAG: What do you know about your family history in the German colonial period?

Girley Charlene Jazama: My great-great-grandmother was a prisoner in the Alte Feste concentration camp in Windhoek; she was the “tea lady” for one of the commanders there. She was raped by an officer in the camp. My great-grandmother was born in one such concentration camp in 1909.
