Evann Guessand finally succeeded in making Nice’s offensives a reality. In the first half, he spent a lot of time trying to get behind the Metz block. But the latter, perfectly in place, contained the calls from the OGC Nice attackers. Nevertheless, Guessand did not stop provoking his counterparts to tire them out. In the second half, after a good opening from Gaëtan Laborde, who had been behind until then, the Franco-Ivorian striker won a penalty after a collision in the area. He then took it upon himself to transform it like a big man to give the Aiglons a decisive advantage (1-0, 76th).
Even though he was wrong-footed on Guessand’s penalty, the Algerian goalkeeper still delivered a top-notch performance. He allowed his team to stay in this match throughout the first half. With his 8 saves, he disgusted the Nice attack for a long time. Unfortunately on the penalty he went the wrong way and Evann Guessand, who had waited until the last moment, was able to adjust it perfectly.

He came back to add fire to this Metz attack but he still sorely lacks rhythm. Georges Mikautadze still needs to get back on his feet if he wants to contribute more fully to the maintenance operation of FC Metz. Too often stuck to his line, the Georgian did not come into the midfield enough to ask for the ball at his feet and try to break the lines.
The Senegalese striker from FC Metz lacked realism in the few chances he managed to get. He did not take on the Nice defense quickly, often well contained by Jean-Clair Todibo. He did not find the fault and lacked precision as during a good opportunity in the second half. After a cross that flew past everyone, he inherited the ball in the area. He takes too much time and tries to dribble between several defenders who have positioned themselves well.
