51,299 Corona cases were reported to the RKI yesterday.

Compared to the previous week, there is an increase of ten percent.

This is the fifth working day in a row with a plus compared to the previous week.

The trend reversal towards higher case numbers continues to solidify.

The 7-day average of new cases is already eight percent above the previous week’s level.

Yesterday it was up again for the first time since July 22 compared to the previous week.

The nationwide 7-day incidence increases from 230 to 236.

It is increasing in 13 of the 16 federal states.

The three exceptions are Hamburg, Hesse and NRW.

In a week-on-week comparison, all federal states are now up except for NRW.

For three weeks, none of the 412 cities and counties had a four-digit incidence. The number of districts with an incidence of more than 500 had also fallen sharply, a week ago there was only one left.

Today there are again seven circles with an incidence of more than 500.

Five of them are in Bavaria.

And since today there is again a district that ranks above the 1000: the Lower Bavarian district of Kelheim, which has a value of 1076.

The “Gillamoos” folk festival took place in the district on the first five days of September.

In the past seven days, exactly 1327 corona cases have been reported from the district (123,390 inhabitants).

Even after other folk festivals in Bavaria, a sharp increase in the incidence has temporarily been observed in the past few weeks.

109 corona deaths were reported to the RKI yesterday.

That’s eleven fewer than a week ago.
