FC Bayern is a guest at Italian runners-up Inter Milan. That can only mean one thing: the new Champions League season is beginning. At the start, the Munich team can expect the first endurance test in international business.
The game starts on Wednesday evening at 21:00 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. The pay-TV broadcaster DAZN * broadcasts the game live.
As group winners and with maximum points, FC Bayern reached the round of 16 in the Champions League last season. The prestigious group rivals FC Barcelona and Benfica Lisbon could not change that. It was then in the quarter-finals against the surprise Spanish team FC Villarreal.
This year Bayern again expects FC Barcelona in the group phase. But first the people of Munich fly to Milan, to the Italian runners-up Inter.
After it looked for a while last season as if the Nerazzurri would actually be able to present the Italian championship cup for the second time in a row, they had to settle for the runner-up position in the end. The trophy stayed in the city, but Serie A winners went to city rivals AC Milan.
The Champions League season was also unfortunate. In the round of 16, the Milanese played against the eventual finalists FC Liverpool, Inter had to admit defeat with a 1:2. Against FC Bayern there could be a showdown at the highest level.
The game cannot be seen on free TV. Only the finale on June 10, 2023 will be broadcast by ZDF.
