35,995 Corona cases were reported to the RKI yesterday.

This means that the number of cases is again above the level of the previous week – like yesterday, when it was positive again for the first time since July 20th.

It may be too early to call a turnaround – but the unambiguous downward trend of the past few weeks no longer exists at the moment.

The 7-day moving average of new cases rises for the second day in a row.

Compared to the previous week, it is only three percent down.

The nationwide 7-day incidence increases from 223 to 230.

It is increasing across the board, namely in 14 of the 16 federal states.

There are only minor declines in NRW and Berlin.

Compared to the previous week, nine of the 16 federal states are now at least slightly up.

119 corona deaths were reported to the RKI yesterday.

That’s 29 fewer than a week ago.

In total, we are at 455 deceased in the current week.

Every day we hear the new Corona case numbers. But what do they mean, where are we in the pandemic and what is the trend? Olaf Gersemann explains and evaluates the current figures briefly and concisely – every morning anew.
