What 2022 didn’t have to endure with criticism from end users: It was the worst year since 2021 and 2020 and looked about as entertaining as a root canal without anesthesia at a dentist with the hiccups and in a terrible mood.
Quite a few were so disappointed in 2022 that they now find it more sensible not to hold any further turn of the year for safety reasons. According to the experiences of the recent past, a new year always means new trouble.
It is understandable that many Germans do not trust their way to 2023. What impertinence can we expect – a further intensification of the energy crisis, which means that there are still no public buildings with sensible Christmas lights in the summer? The end of the world? Or if it should get really bad, Olaf Scholz naked?
Surprisingly, not everyone is completely dissatisfied with 2022. This is the result of a non-representative survey by WELT on behalf of the nonsense research institute GLASAUGE in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. The spectacular finding: People who use water sparingly, no longer have to go to work every day or live far away from Europe actually found 2022 pretty okay.
However, it is still unclear what consequences politicians will draw from these insights. There is still some disagreement in Berlin about the behavior of the Federal Chancellor. It is said that Olaf Scholz plans to declare 2022 over with a New Year’s speech. Too hasty, say some, far too late others. It will be interesting to see who will be right in the end and whether it might not be better to finally change the annual provider.
