Canadian authorities have started an investigation, since the 38 body was found among about 500 French bulldogs boarded a plane at the airport in Toronto, Canada.
The surviving French bulldogs – a breed of dog that is popular in Canada – was dehydrated, weak, and threw up, inform the canadian food control.
It writes The Guardian.
‘It was a nightmare’, says a dog handler on the ‘rædsels-scene’, there met him, when he had to pick up another dog in the area where the puppies were found.
French bulldogs can cost up to 4000 canadian dollars which corresponds to 19.500 Danish kroner per dog.
Several owners of the popular breed of dog think of the animals bred in Canada.
‘But we have no idea how many animals come into the country, where they end up, or where they come from’, says Scott Weese from the University of Guelph to the canadian media, the CBC, and refers to the potential for organized crime.
