Poniente University Hospital hosted its annual reception to welcome professionals who wish to join the hospital’s staff for the summer months. Five training workshops were held to promote the center’s structure and organizational details, as well as the services available to workers to aid their work.
The reception began with a welcoming in the Hospital Assembly Hall. Jose Maria de Torres was the General Director of Public Health and Pharmaceutical Management of Almeria’s Ministry of Health and Families. Juan de la Cruz Belmonte was the regional delegate for Health and Families in Almeria. Yolanda Guisado, director of professionals, and Pedro Acosta, the managing director of Poniente University Hospital were also present.
Jose Maria de Torres thanked all those who joined the center to ensure assistance in the summer. He recalled that it was essential to provide quality assistance during the pandemic, and that it will be crucial to continue this effort in the summer months. Juan de la Cruz Belmonte (delegate for Health and Families) stressed the same thing, stating that the Poniente University hospital is a large center in terms both of facilities and work volume, but where you can also enjoy a familiar atmosphere, in which human relationships and humanity are very important>>.
Pedro Acosta, the hospital’s managing director, believes that “teamwork is vital to provide the best care for the Comarca del Poniente, providing patients and their families with care that is reassuring and curing, caring, and accompanying.”
Each year, the Professionals Directorate of Hospital Universitario Poniente organizes a welcoming ceremony. This is to give those who are coming to strengthen their staff an overview of the organisation so they feel part of its units or services, and to also learn about the tools available to them to perform their activity.
This edition included five workshops that were held in the Assembly Hall as well as the Training Classrooms. Nearly 200 professionals participated in these workshops. They provided information on how to manage permits, payroll, or access to Lingerie service. The Library and Research Support Unit were also mentioned. It was stressed the importance of occupational risk prevention and epidemiological surveillance. Finally, the strategic work that the hospital has done in the areas Patient Safety and Humanization.
The reception ceremony concluded with the acceptance of the new additions by care managers and coordinators of the various units in which they will be required to perform their work. This was done taking into consideration the particularities of each service.
