16 saudi arabian nationals have been prohibited entry into the UNITED states as a result of the killing of the regimekritiske journalist Jamal Khashoggi, in October last year.
this was stated by The UNITED states secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, on Monday, according to AFP news agency.
the Ban is justified by the 16 persons ‘involvement’ in the killing.
Mike Pompeo has taken the decision on the basis of a law which allows the foreign ministry to introduce visa bans for officials in countries that violate human rights.
Jamal Khashoggi, was killed on Saudi Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, 2. October of last year. He had turned up at the consulate to pick up some documents.
the Body of Khashoggi has never been found.
IN the UNITED states Senate in december of a resolution, which identifies Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, as responsible for the killing.
The u.s. secret service, the CIA, according to reports in several media have previously come to the same conclusion in an independent investigation into the killing of Khashoggi.

Critics of the Trump accusing him to cover up the powerful crown prince, because Saudi Arabia is a close ally of the UNITED states.
