Archaeologists have discovered during excavations in the region of Saqqara south of Cairo, the tomb uncovered an official of the fifth dynasty, which was about 4,300 years ago, about Egypt. The tomb is decorated with colourful reliefs and well-preserved inscriptions.

The grave of a high officer called Khuwy, of whom it is assumed that he is a nobleman was during the fifth dynasty. “The L-shaped grave begins with a small hallway that lead down to a room and from there to a larger room with painted reliefs that the grafeigenaar proposals”, says Mohamed Megahed, head of the excavation team.

The team of archaeologists has in the area of Saqqara graves excavated that are related to the fifth dynasty. At the end of last year, was still a tomb discovered of a royal priest, who served under pharaoh Neferirkare.
