Science is pretty much the holy grail for anyone who is concerned with the study of the Aztecs: the find of a royal tomb. For decades there dug, but never was there one discovered. There would now change as archaeologists in Mexico City, a promising discovery was done.
The discovery happened not in a remote or undeveloped area, but right in the centre of the busy Mexico City. More specifically, at the foot of the famous Templo Mayor. That was 500 years ago, the main temple of the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan, in the period that the most powerful ruler of the empire was in power.

The temple was a huge complex of 60 meters high, that was considered the center of the earth. At the top, there were two sanctuaries: one for the god of war Huitzilopochtli and the rain god Tlaloc.
