A life as a craftsman can bid on many different sources of noise. Therefore, it is important to take good care of your hearing by slamming a pair of earmuffs on.

Modern hearing protection must meet a set standard on how they should protect your hearing.

In this test of six different ear plugs from three manufacturers, we have focus on comfort and general impression.

the Producers were asked to select their top model and a model that is not in the absolute most expensive end, but still a good and safe alternative.

Extra Leaf was the carpenter, Lasse Knudsen, who works at the company Andersen & la Cour, to switch from the ear protection, he normally use, and try out the other in a test.

Lasse had høreværnene in a week’s time.

– I noticed little difference in how close the pad joined to the ears of the various hearing protectors. Some of them feels as if it is soft latex, and the other feels more like the foam in the pad, says Lasse Knudsen on høreværnene.

He had access to the most expensive models and the slightly more affordable alternatives, but it was not necessarily to mark.

– The fit is basically the same, regardless of whether høreværnene is expensive or cheap, but the expensive versions just have more things like bluetooth and such, he tells.

Seemed a bit big when I got them on, but was quickly accustomed to them. Again very good fit. Only thing getting used to is the strap over the head, which could feel a bit tight. It is of hard plastic, but with skumbelægning.

A really good idea with the Bluetooth. It works really well, and you don’t have your phone out of your pocket at the call. Even when there is noise around you, it is clear to hear the conversation. Easy access to the battery also a plus.. The microphone to the conversation over the Bluetooth can be set, so it fits perfectly at the interview – and can easily be pushed to the side so it does not bother when not used.

3M Peltor WS Alert XP

Really nice fit. Sits well over your head.

There was a lot of noise at conversation. Surround sound can be screwed up and down. Bluetooth also works fine.

Not so easy to find the different buttons. I prefer to be able to make sound and channel up and down even with the control knob. There are also only 3-4 different volume levels, and I don’t think they fit properly. Either too low at the noise, or also for high without.

Good fit. Felt as if they didn’t fit 100% around the ears. The foam almost seems a little too soft, one should not move the head very crooked, before they not end quite close. The piece over the head fit really well, and they’re not too tight. Easy adjustment.

I’m not a big fan of the volume and power on/off button. It works really OK, but seems to stand and feel what button you now press. It will probably be something that takes a little getting used to.

Husqvarna Earmuff with FM Radio

the Hanger over your head is shaped different, (for better fit I guess), it was not something I think made the big difference. The foam over the ears worked quite hard, and it was no better on a cold day. It did not close and felt uncomfortable.

They seemed very plastikagtige and a tad cheap compared to the others. They are also with pushbuttons, which can be difficult to operate.

Sitting really well around the ears. They are comfortable to wear even for a longer time. It is also a plus that what follows is extra earbuds in the box, so you can replace.

Good sound/reception and easy to set up. Volumeknappen works just as well as the button to sorrundsound. It is good that you can set the button to that you can hear what is happening around one in the workplace.

Loser: Husqvarna Hearing Protection

Comfort is good – they are fine and are easy to set to hovedstørrelse.

A solid hearing protection, but without the radio as I almost always use in my work.
