Bruges Along the Alfred Ronsestraat in Zeebrugge happened Thursday morning just after 8 a.m. a major accident with two trucks. The driver of a truck with semi-trailer gave no priority to an oncoming truck, after which a collision came. As if by miracle there were no injuries.
The Lithuanian truck driver got steering it successfully from the verhakkelde driver’s cabin and tried with hands and feet to explain what had happened. He first tried with the emergency services to notify, but could himself in his mother tongue difficult to understand. It was eventually a coincidental passer-by who stopped and the phone took over. The trucker himself was later orphaned. “I came from the direction of Zeebrugge and was suddenly hit by a car”, she said. Also, the second truck driver, the aanrijder, came with the shock. By the accident was the Alfred Ronsestraat over a distance of 100 yards littered with debris. The fire brigade came to site to the job to clean up. Also the leaking oil had to be cleaned up. The city police had arranged in anticipation of the over – and takelwerken traffic. The discomfort was all in all limited. The damage to both trucks is great, but if a miracle came everyone with of fright.
