On Finimmoweb, the website for real property of the federal government, is a remarkable building for sale: the former abbey of Florival on an area of nearly four acres. The accompanying castle is a wonderful example of neoclassical architecture, with more than 24 rooms and several outbuildings. Sale price: 1.950.000 euro, plus expenses. The former abbey of Florival, on the language border near Huldenberg in Flemish Brabant, has been empty for years. The building used to serve as a training center for the federal public service (FPS) Home affairs. So was the school of civil protection in the building.

The domain has a rich history that dates back to the 13th century. The abbey of Florival was in 1218 near Archennes founded and belonged to the order of Citeaux. The abbey gave its name to the hamlet of Grez-Doiceau (Dig) where the domain is hosted in. In 1796, the abbey was given by the French revolutionaries.

The whole site is classified and contains a castle, in late neoclassical style (1850), several remains of the former abbey, a garden and a park of almost four acres.
