Sint-Niklaas Women who have breast cancer have to overcome, also need to be carefree, comfortable and trendy to the beach. But designers Katerina Rogozinska of Ocean Couture and Nicky Vankets a special beachwear collection.
“My grandmother was faced with breast cancer, the mother of Nicky, has spoken, and also in our circle of friends, I hear those stories increasingly appear, even in very young women. We wanted as designers together to do something for those women. Because for those with breast prostheses by the life, there is no nice, comfortable and trendy swimwear. That is very unfortunate for those women. Also they have with their girlfriends to the beach, and carefree can enjoy the sun and with all the comfort to go for a swim”, tell Katerina Rogozinska of Ocean Couture from Sint-Niklaas and the well-known designer Nicky Vankets from Antwerp. They will be launching a new beachwear collection, which is adapted to the needs and expectations of women with breast cancer were facing.
The swimwear should be not only soft to the touch and the breast prostheses in the right place, it may preferably also nice and hip look. For that audience, there was however not much more available than the classic swimsuit with a flowery pattern. “Younger women want to not go to the beach with a swimsuit that she is their grandmother could have borrowed. Therefore, was this collection a challenge. We want to aesthetically make a difference — it may be feminine and sexy — and at the same time should also be as pleasant and comfortable as possible to feel, without the additional interventions on the inside affect the outside,” says Nicky Vankets. “With my mother, I have experienced it firsthand. After her rehabilitation, she went to a bathing suit to buy. However, that was not to see. And today get, unfortunately, so many women of all ages to create. To their self-esteem and self-confidence, have they also nice swimwear can get.”
