Bizarre The American billionaire Ken Griffin is on a house hunt and that we will have known. Last week he bought for € 108 million in London, one of the most expensive house ever. A few days later, he stores also in New York. Griffin (50), there is now owner of the most expensive abode ever sold in USA. Cost of the penthouse at Central Park: 209 million euro.
Kenneth C. Griffin founded in 1990, hedge fund Citadel, and was even extremely rich. His property is estimated at 8.4 billion euros. He lives in Chicago and is, according to the list of Bloomberg, the wealthiest man in the state of Illinois. He will, therefore, not a slice of bread less to eat after a week of shopping at the real estate market of London and New York. Even though it made him a total of 317 million euros lighter.
In London he went for a residence of 200 years old, around the corner from Buckingham Palace with a view of the St. James’s Park. Griffin keeps apparently of trees: in the U.S. situates his latest acquisition on the south side of Central Park, a location that is, anyway, only reserved for the more wealthy fellow-men. But Griffin had also a record of 209 million for his penthouse in the long-announced skyscraper of architect Robert A. M. Stern, 220 Central Park South. The building has 65 floors and 118 apartments, 26 of which are an entire floor to occupy. That Griffin is less than 2.230 m2. The billionaire had been around since 2015 with the purchase engaged. The building is at this moment still not finished.
The previous recorddeal for a private apartment in Manhattan in 2014 is closed. It was less than half that time: 88 million euros. The record in the entire USA was in the hands of Griffin’s colleague Barry Rosenstein that in 2014, more than 120 million euros paid for a abode in the Hamptons. The world record was then again in 2017 located in the Peak, one of the most fashionable areas of hong Kong. It then went to a sales amount to a whopping 317 million euro.
