It goes well in Nørresundby. So good, that kranvirksomheden BMS now has chosen to invest a considerable sum of money in a new crane. But it is not just any crane, and therefore, it costs the almost 100 million dkk. The new crane will be used to service the wind turbine industry.
The new generation of wind turbines are significantly larger and can effektmæssigt replace many small. It is a positive development, as it reduces the cost of energy, but which puts greater and greater demands on the contractors, explains project manager Henrik Wadmann from the north vindmøllenetværk Hub North.
BMS’ new crane is the Nordic region to date, the largest crane. The crane is from the German kranproducent Liebherr and the model LR1 1350. The figure stands for the number of tons, not pounds, as the crane can lift – 1350 tonnes. The crane has a reach of 144 metres up in the air.
the BMS, the last year used a similar crane, which was indlejet from abroad, but now the huge crane under its own flag:
– It is clear that it gives us some other options even to dispose of the crane. It is a very advanced machine, which can be combined in a myriad of ways depending on the purpose, and now we can even plan and offer the very big specialløft – both to vindopgaver and other tasks, ” explains adm. director at BMS Heavy Cranes Morten Chamber.
Full-fledged weighs the crane of 1600 tons and reaches up to 100 lorries, so it is not a crane, that either can move under its own power or in a short time.
