Bodegas Munana won three gold medals at Berlin. Munana Rojo was the winner in 2020. Munana Tres cepas 2018, and Munana 1188 Cab, 2018. International critics have recognized the potential and quality wine production in the province.
The Berliner Wine Trophy is an international competition that is extremely important. This is the most significant international award in Germany. It is run by the OIV and UIOE and brings together the most well-known distributors and producers in the world each year.
This edition features 20250 wines from 2,000 producers in 41 countries. The evaluation system is blind tastings by international experts who follow strict guidelines.
These awards are for six wines that were awarded with Bodegas Munana’s highest honors.
The winery said that this award “reaffirms the hard work done during these difficult years we have experienced due to the pandemic.” These distinctions are in addition to those that James Suckling, one of the most influential critics worldwide, gave five Munana red wines outstanding ratings from ninety-eighty. The Cortes y Graena-based winery received two medals (Gold & Silver) at the CWSA Asian conference a few weeks prior. Bodegas Munana is now a strong winery in Granada, and a benchmark for quality Andalusian wines.
