The Algerian Parliament has appointed following the resignation of Abdelaziz Bouteflika, a transition President. The two chambers of Parliament confirmed, according to state television, a large majority of Abdelkader Bensalah as an interim successor. According to the Constitution, he must authenticate themselves within 90 days of elections for the office of President of the institution.
