They stood on top of the podium countless times and won everything from the All England to the OLYMPICS medals.
But now is an era past, and Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen should no longer be companions in all sorts of badmintonhaller.
almost 15 years together, but now there should be something new, says the Boe, as now to form a pair of Mads Conrad instead.
– Obviously, this is something I am looking forward to. I have even been inside over the decision and look forward to trying something new, he says to Ekstra Bladet.
– Mads and I are good for many of the same things together, but we have found it out, and played well at the Thomas Cup. We are strong, and sometimes there must be something new. In football would you change the club, but you can’t change the country on the way.
– It is not gone super well for a while. We have not played well, and of course, it is really frustrating when we have been accustomed to be with in the top and also the best. Then, when you do not win more, it’s not so fun. So we had many considerations.

– It, Carsten and I have, is pretty unique. We will be forever written into the history books as some of the best in Danish idrætshistorie. There is no one there in the near future, come to the results.
– Why should it happen now after so many years of cooperation?
– We are a quite unique partnership, and we have had many discussions on and off the field. Just like in a marriage in good and evil. We have attached some special tape, and from my side they are not ripped up. We’ve been through a lot together, and I have helped him very much for it in Russia, says the Boe and refers to the episode in 2016, where Mogensen suddenly collapsed with a brain haemorrhage.

His girlfriend through many years, Taapsee Pannu, is a very famous Bollywood actor (See more of their relationship here), and the two thus became closer to each other, but now must badmintonstjernen home to Denmark again.

– If the Mads and I must find each other, it requires that we should train together more. There is nothing new on the personal front, and I have of course cleared it with my girlfriend.
– She seems that it is a really good idea, and she is also very focused on his career. She supports me 100% in it. Whether we are moving in together now or one and a half-two years in the making, not so much. So we have still the whole of the rest of his life.
