An increased interest to visit Islay in vestskotland and the scottish distilleries means that Distell have decided to invest 100 million. kr. in the Bunnahabhain which is located on the east side of the island close to the ferry port of Port Askaig.
the Investment will primarily be spent on a big new shop, cafe and facilities that will draw more visitors to the distillery. The distillery is the northernmost on the island and located alone away from the other distilleries on the island. The most well-known as Ardbeg, Laphoigh and set in new york city is on a leash on the southern part of the island. The new facilities are scheduled to be ready in 2021.
