Jesus Estrella (acting Government delegate in Jaen), visited Cazalilla. He handed over a social housing owned by the Board, to a single-parent family with a minor daughter. This was suggested by the Municipal Registry of Housing Applicants of this population. The promotion includes 15 properties owned by Andalusian Housing and Rehabilitation Agency. It is located at Calle Alcalde Juan Zarrias.

The Junta de Andalucia offers support to disadvantaged families, and those who have difficulty accessing housing. They make available the residential park for rent that AVRA manages in Jaen, which is composed of 4,724 properties, distributed by many municipalities. The Agency manages two developments in Cazalilla: one on Alcalde Juan Zarrias Street and another with 36 homes on Jose Maria Peman or San Blas streets.

These two groups are part of a shared ownership model, as a portion of the houses were originally rented out to tenants. However, they have since been able, through time and economic improvement, to acquire ownership of the homes that have been their home for many years. The delegate also mentioned the policy of Ministry of Development, Infrastructure and Territorial Planning, which AVRA is attached, which facilitates many families’ ownership of their homes.

Jesus Estrella also appreciated the coordination between administrations in the delivery of the house. In this case, it was between the Junta de Andalucia as well as the City Council. This has allowed them to provide a housing solution for this family. AVRA coordinated this work and made the home available to the Municipal Registry of Claimants. It has been awarded to the family unit that was proposed by the registry in accordance with current regulations regarding protected housing.

These people will be residing in the property and have met all requirements for accessing a home with limited income, Cazalilla registration, and no other real estate.
