The Racing Club de Lens expressed “its biggest questions” on Thursday, the day after the prefectural decree prohibiting the travel of its supporters for the Ligue 1 match in Montpellier on Friday (9:00 p.m.).

The Artois club states in a press release that “a preparation meeting was held on Tuesday with the prefecture during which the arrival of Sang et Or supporters was in no way called into question” for this match of the fifteenth day.

“How is it therefore possible that half of the J15 matches can be played with open parking spaces and that a match not classified as risky results in a ban?” asks the artesian club, pointing out, in essence, “the inequality”.

The mining basin club also regrets the “irreversible consequences on hundreds of reservations (transport, accommodation)” made by Lensois supporters.

The decree from the Hérault prefecture follows the recommendations made by the Minister of Sports Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, in favor on Tuesday of “a moratorium on the travel of supporters”, a few days after the death of a Nantes fan during a ‘An altercation.

If the prefect of Hérault recognized the non-existence of “disputes between the supporters of the two clubs”, he considered it “necessary to take appropriate police measures”.

Two months ago, a firecracker thrown on the Montpellier lawn by a club supporter injured the Clermont goalkeeper. At the end of November, a bus of Brest supporters was stoned after the match against Montpellier.

On December 18, a meeting will bring together the National Supporterism Authority (INS), the Professional Football League (LFP) and the Ministries of the Interior, Justice and Sports.
