The CSD in Berlin is one of the largest street parades in Europe, who fights for the rights of Gay, lesbian, Bisexual and transgender people. The first Berlin CSD was held on 30. June 1979. At that time the Motto of “Gay Pride was” and it went about 450 demonstrators on the street. In the past year, one Million people took part in the parade. The Motto was: “My body, my identity, my life!”
The Pride parades go back to the resistance of queer people in June of 1969, against a brutal police RAID on the Stonewall Inn in New York’s Christopher Street legal. The Community is celebrating this year the 50. Birthday of this event, this is a milestone of gay and Transexual emancipation movement.
