Two small cities to the North, flooded by San Francisco and isolated from the outside world. Heavy rains had led to that the Russian River was over its banks.

Severe Flooding two towns in the North of California have been effectively cut off from the outside world. In 2000, building up to 2,5 m are under water.

The Russian River inundated Guerneville and Monte Rio.

The small town of Guerneville is now “officially an island,” said the Sheriff’s office in Sonoma County on Wednesday. The nearby village of Monte Rio was also isolated by the high water, because all the access roads had been flooded.

After days of rain, the Russian River overflowed. The level continues to rise. The North of San Francisco and nearby small towns were only accessible by boat.
