at Least four times confessed, the now 51-year-old Michael Leon Curry, that he had killed a nurse in 1986.
He confessed to the murder verbally and even in writing. But the police in the us state of Michigan didn’t really believe in the man. And the prosecution did not believe that there was damning evidence against him.
After 33 years, Michael Leon Curry finally been arrested and charged with premeditated murder of the nurse Wilda Wilkinson.
It was, paradoxically, not the man’s own confessions for many years back that felled him.
It was an update on his Facebook profile, which really got started in the police.
‘I’m not an angel. If I get angry, so I’ll kill. I have never killed any – who have not deserved it,’ wrote Michael Leon Curry last year in June on Facebook.
Cops in Michigan had discreetly followed the Curry through the several years – also his whereabouts on Facebook.
The 17. march of this year the man was then arrested and transported from California to Bangor in Michigan.
Here he must now be brought to justice.
U.s. media wonder, in the degree above, why is Curry not long since been arrested. The man has a long history of been sitting in jail for robbery and a bloody assault. He has along the way confessed to killing opposite a cell-mate, who went to the police with his knowledge.
Curry has also confessed to the police, who then investigated the matter. He has even sent a letter to one of the ushers, in which he describes the killing in detail. The letter was not signed, but the bar Curry’s fingerprints.
One of the investigators says that the officers thought that the Curry was just attention seeking.
The 59-year-old Wilda Wilkinson was killed when she opened the door for Curry. He had not planned to kill the woman. He would instead commit a burglary and called the first at the door to ensure that no-one was at home.
Curry, who lived in the neighborhood, was so surprised that the door was opened, he pushed the woman into the bedroom, choked her with bare hands and camouflaged the murder as sexually explicit.
The murdered woman was later found by the daughter.
the Police took at the time suspected to the Curry, but it was by suspicion. He was questioned and confessed and refused. The officers believed that he was running games with them.
In decades was the killing regarded as unsolved and left as a so-called ‘cold case.’ But the family of Wilda Wilkinson was far from satisfied with, that the murderer had not been found and punished for his misdeed.
the pressure on The police to reopen the case, which happened in 2010, writes WWMT.
the Body of the killed woman were dug up, and new technical investigations were carried out.
What concrete came out of these studies is still unclear. The police and the prosecutor’s office does not at present reveal, what concrete evidence they have against the man.
– I have no idea what the police have made in recent years, and I have no idea about what new information they have, says one of the police officers investigating the killing of 33 years ago.
