only a year ago, told the ‘dancing with the stars’-star, Tobias Karlsson, that he was infected with HIV, and now has the Swedish dancer chosen to open up about her life with the disease.
This is an interview with the Swedish media Hänt.
Here he tells that the first time, after the diagnosis was made, was full of anxiety, but that today he has it good. He eats a pill a day, and we want everything to be as it should.
For him it is important to be open and tell about the disease, so that he can be a role model for others.
– I would like to show that, here also is a life, for it has not changed my life is neither positive or negative, physically or mentally. It was of course difficult to get the message, but in a way, it has actually only strengthened me. An obstacle on the road, as I came over and was stronger of he says to the media.

It was back in 2016, Tobias Karlsson, who is gay, found out that he is HIV-positive. Before then he had in a longer period of time felt uncomfortable, and therefore he decided to go to the doctor to get it checked.
– I went to the nurse and took such a 20-minute test. And when the result came, she says suddenly: ‘It does not look good.’ She had worked there for many years and had never gotten a positive result. And this test is 99 percent sure. Right there went my world in the stand, he told in an interview in the fall.

Since the diagnosis had been made, was Tobias Karlsson in the beginning concerned about how his associates would react, he says to Hänt. But fortunately they welcomed the news.
– I just turned 43, and I have never ever been celebrated so well and have never felt so loved as I do right now. I had the most magical people around me right now, both family and friends. I am so grateful and feel so privileged. I just want to share it with the rest of the world, he says.
Tobias Karlsson has appeared several times in the Danish version of the popular danseprogram on TV2, where he among other things has danced with Hella Joof, Tina Lund and Zindy Laursen.
