Lucas Bjerregaard could probably rightly call his victory over Tiger Woods in Saturday’s quarter-final at the WGC Matchplay for ‘surprising’.
But that the fight would be decided on the extreme margins as the Woods failed a putt on 18. the hole was according to the 27-year-old dane “a shame”.
It was a shame that it had to be settled on the way. Our duel deserved it not, said Lucas Bjerregaard after the fight to news agency AP. He was, however, quick to add:
– of course, I’m so happy to be back with the victory.
To play against one of the greatest golfstjerner was also an experience in itself, said the dane following.
– It is so different compared to anything else I have experienced before. I have never heard so many chants from the fans, people shouting his name all the way around.
It was really a good experience, but it must also be hard for him as a player to be under the pressure every day, said Bjerregaard on the Woods.

Before that he had the fight go back and forth. Early in the match brought Bjerregaard ahead, but the roles were quickly reversed when Tiger Woods was the best on three holes in a row, before Lucas Bjerregaard slap best from the seventh hole.
By 10. hole had the dane equalised and brought the balance in the accounts. However, it did only briefly, as Tiger Woods on the par-3 hole used four strokes, while Cox spent five.
Such was the status until hole 16, where an eagle secured Bjerregaard points on the par 5-hole, when Tiger Woods used the four strokes, and then it was all right again.
On the last hole sent Woods the ball in the bunker on his second stroke on the par 4-hole, and when Woods failed a put, so that was a victory to the English.
