the Competition consists bl.a. written tests with questions on all sorts of drinks such as wine, beer, sake, spirits, juices, mineral water, coffee and tea – as well as blindsmagninger of several of these drinks and incl. reasoned combination of the drinks with ”restaurant” food.
Moreover, there are several different practical tasks such as how f.ex. a guest” ask the sommelier mix a classic cocktail, followed by the presentation, opening and serving champagne to a table with judges who are ”guests in the restaurant”, followed by the decanting and serving of a bottle of red wine – at the same time with the sommelier’s explanation on the food that match these wines, and why.
