On the Rutor glacier in the Italian Alps are today two bodies found after the collision yesterday between a helicopter and a small plane. That brings the death toll to seven, as is learned from a spokesman of the rescue services. According to the Italian news agency Ansa died five people in the helicopter, and two in the airplane.
The accident happened above the Rutor glacier, in the Italian province of Aosta, near the ski resort La Thuile and the French border. Two people survived the collision, but suffered serious injuries: one in the helicopter, one in the small plane.
In the helicopter were skiers, the airplane came from France and had a flight instructor and two student pilots on board. A police officer told RAI radio that the French unit is obviously in the Italian airspace, landed without the Italian air traffic control on the height.
