the Chairman of The Finance and tax Committee, Richard Neal, called on Finance Minister Steven Mnuchin, on Friday, under threat of prosecution, to deliver within a week, the tax declarations of Trumps and several of his companies in the past six years, personally. A corresponding Subpoena, a penalty clause arrangement, went to the chief of the tax authority, the IRS, Charles Rettig. Mnuchin had informed Neal on Tuesday that he refused the release of the tax returns.
Neal argues, citing a law, the Ministry of Finance is obliged, at the request of the Committee Chairman to release tax returns. The Committee must specify any reasons. Mnuchins had told Neal in the Letter dated last Tuesday, the request for the tax documents by the Committee, there is a lack of “legitimate legislative purposes.” After consultations with the Ministry of justice he is not entitled, therefore, to the tax returns.
The Democrats in the house of representatives had requested at the beginning of April formally, the tax returns of Trump and several of his companies for tax years 2013 to 2018. The White house dismissed the claim immediately thereafter. Trump has released his tax returns yet never – what fueled his critics suspect that he has something to hide. Usually publish US presidential candidates tax returns during the election campaign.

The Finance and tax Committee had set a deadline for the surrender of the tax returns of the Republican President. Mnuchin had each asked for more time to consider the request, and on Tuesday finally rejected.
With so-called Subpoenas of Congress, can load under threat of prosecution witnesses or documents to request. Trump has announced that all Subpoenas combat. Is considered to be unlikely now that Mnuchin, or Rettig of the call will be offspring, even if it is punishable as a criminal offence. If you refuse, you could be in contempt of Congress prosecution. Then the Congress could go to court. A procedure could take years and possibly even before the Supreme Court land.
