Many will recall Naja Nielsen as a news chief at DR, where she was for several years, and among other things was in charge of the TV the Newspaper.

since then, she has been the editor-in-chief of ORB Media in Washington, but now she has left the job for the benefit of a lucrative job as the digital editor at the BBC in London.

And when Naja Nielsen in april takes over the post as digital editor, her mission clear. She must stand in the forefront of the digital strategy at the BBC.
– the BBC needs to be modernised and has already started to adapt to the digital age. People get news through social media, and all media consumption takes place gradually digital. Where I’m going to sit in the leadership of BBC News, which is a section of about 7000. I will be responsible for the digital strategy, and how we develop the digital platforms. Our overall focus is to better serve the needs of all groups of people, not least younger people. Serve them better with fewer, and better, and more personalised news.

But the core values are the same. I have simply had so much fun in the DR, but it is also exciting to work outside the country’s borders. For the world is incredible, ” says Naja Nielsen.
The new job also means that Naja Nielsen should move to Washington, where she has been up to now resides with her husband, and instead settle down in London.
– We live in Washington right now my husband and I. He has just been appointed to the redaktionschef on the P1 Orientation. So we are going to commute between London and Dallas. We have traveled back and forth between Copenhagen and Washington, so it’s great that, despite everything being smaller sea between us now. It will be a challenge, but also fun. We have adult children, and we have decided that it is in our 50’s, we should give the gas and have something out of the years, sounds from Naja Nielsen.
