A so-called medical consultation from Richard Freeman, who is a former holdlæge for Team Sky and the british cycling federation, has been postponed, because Freeman failed to show up Wednesday.
He had instead sent his lawyer, who asked for the postponement in two days, which usually happens because of legal decay as a disease. The tribunal in the hearing responded to the desire and set a new hearing for Friday morning.
There are several serious charges against Freeman, who can risk to lose its authorization as a doctor.
The central accusation is that in 2011 he prescribed illegal testosterone to the at least one unnamed rider in 2011. And that he has ordered 30 bags of testosterone patches for the velodrom in Manchester where the british cycling federation has its head office. The case, Freeman in addition, changed the explanation in the way, and is therefore also charged with having lied to the british anti-doping authorities.
in Addition, he is accused of against the guidelines to have dealt with the team-the staff and also for having sloppy with its records.
The last is directed to the case where he ordered a medicinpose – the so-called jiffy bag – for Bradley Wiggins up to the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2011.
the Contents of the bag has never been published, mostly because Freeman either neglected to erp the drugging of the later Tour de France winner, who demonstrably had an exemption to use an illegal cortisone-preparation against hay fever. Or at best, lost the only copy of the file during a holiday in Greece in 2014, when his computer was stolen. He later claimed that he had only a copy, since he had not yet been learned how to use Dropbox.
It is not the first time that Freeman fails to appear at a hearing. He also did so in 2017, when a british parlamentskomite would throw light on drug delivery to Bradley Wiggins in 2011.
It is expected that several from Team Sky and the british cycling federation, in the witness box in the case, but in the british media speculation, that the upcoming hearing on Friday, also did not come to anything. Richard Freeman enlisted in 2017 to cancel because of his fragile mental health, which is also believed to be the reason for this cancellation.
Freeman was, however, brisk for in the summer of 2018 to publish a book, where he describes the medical and scientific approach of Team Sky, where he also comes in on the cases of Bradley Wiggins.
