A fire at an immigrant detention center in northern Mexico has killed 39 people. The National Institute for Migration regrets the death of 39 migrants so far in the fire, the government said. According to information from the AP news agency, 29 other people are said to have been injured.
The fire broke out Monday night at the facility in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, near the Texas border. According to media reports, the Mexican Attorney General’s Office launched an investigation and sent investigators to the scene of the accident.
