The countries of the European Union (EU) and the European Parliament reached an agreement on Thursday to regulate all cryptocurrencies in the community market for the first time, from their authorization and supervision to the requirements of transparency with the consumer and their environmental impact.

“This historic regulation will put an end to the cryptographic wild west and confirms the EU’s role as a creator of standards for digital issues,” French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire, whose country holds the presidency, said in a statement.
