Body parts believed to have been found in the suitcases sold after an auction in New Zealand. The homicide commission is now investigating, as a police spokesman said in Auckland on Tuesday. A family from a suburb of Auckland called the police last Thursday after making the grisly find in the suitcases that had been bought at the auction, Police Representative Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua said. According to the police, the family is completely unsuspicious in the case.
She had acquired the suitcases at an auction of items that had not been collected from a warehouse or for which the bill for storage had not been paid. The identification of the deceased is now a priority for the police, “so that we can determine the full circumstances of the find,” explained Vaaelua. The finds would already be autopsied, according to the police, coroners are in the process of determining the number of possible victims.
According to reports from the Newshub news portal, the police could be dealing with the remains of several bodies. For the time being, the investigators did not provide any information on the number.
