The classic american film ‘Gone with the wind’ has been removed from the new us streaming service HBO Max.
It happens in the wake of the Black Lives Matter-protests about George Floyd’s death.
the Film was removed, after screenwriter John Ridley wrote a post in the Los Angeles Times.
‘I know, it seems like a big query to take a classical Hollywood-movie down. But there are not near as big a question as when your children ask if they participate in the protests in the streets against racism, or when they ask you what you did to make the world a better place,’ writes John Ridley.

He does not want that the film will be stored away forever, only to be removed for a while to show respect.
A representative from HBO, Max has stated to the Varity that the film portrays the ethnic and racial prejudices that have been common in american society.
HBO, the Max. stresses that the film will return to the streaming service, but before that there must be some changes.

‘It will return, along with a discussion of the historical context, as well as a move away from these depictions, but it will be presented, as the original was created, because otherwise it would be as claiming that these prejudices never existed,’ says HBO Max.
