Hulshout Nearly five years after Peter Bruynseels (27) was killed during ‘Hulshout Beach start Friday morning the process surrounding the fatal traffic accident. Not only the car driver is also the organizer of the event and the (former) schepencollege of Hulshout are risking a penalty. “Hopefully, this will be an example for all of Belgium”, reply the parents of Peter.

Christiaan Bruynseels and Martine Lauwers Hulshout lost in October 2004, their son michael (19) in a road accident in the Industrial park in Hulshout. The immense grief was unbearable when their son Peter (27) on July 2, 2014 at virtually the same location as a victim of the traffic.

Peter Bruynseels was with comrades to a world cup-match of the Red Devils go and have a look on ‘Hulshout Beach. On the way home, he was close to the event [by the then 22-year-old Stijn S. from Heist-op-den-Berg. The road hog turned out to be under the influence of drugs.

But not only the car driver will find debt according to the parents of Peter Bruynseels. Also the organizer and the schepencollege of Hulshout are according to the next of kin responsible for the deadly accident. They had, according to parents, many more security measures to take.

“The others parties are also to blame”, tell the parents. “They had to ensure that no vehicle at that speed at that moment could pass. If you have something organised, you need not only the benefits of have. There is also such a thing as duties and safety precautions.”
