The best Danish badminton players are participating this week in the Malaysia Open, and it was a good start for herresinglerne Anders Antonsen and Rasmus Gemke.

Anders Antonsen had to be out in three sets against the chinese Huang Yuxiang, before Tuesday’s victory was at home in Kuala Lumpur.

The 21-year-old dane, who is number 12 in the world, won 21-17, 16-21, 21-13 over Huang Yuxiang.

It was the third time in a row, to Anders Antonsen beat the chinese. They had also met each other in both 2017 and 2018.

the Rasmus Gemke also continued from the first round, when he won with 21-19, 24-22 over Lee Huyn Il from south Korea.

the First round, by contrast, was the terminus for Hans-Kristian Vittinghus, who lost 13-21, 9-21 to the fjerdeseedede chinese stjernespiller, Chen Long.

Nor Mia Blichfeldt managed to advance from the first round, when she lost 15-21, 16-21 to the andenseedede japanese, Nozomi Okuhara.

Tuesday’s match was also a disappointment for the Danish men’s doubles with Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.

The femteseedede Danish couple is out after a defeat in the first round at 19-21, 26-24, 8-21 to indonesians Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pangkaryanira and Ade Yusuf Santoso.

the Tournament are ranked to be at level three and is thus one of the larger in badmintonkalenderen.
