a year and a half ago was a 32-year-old man found guilty of his role as the ringleader in a Serbian-Danish narco-league, who smuggled at least 25 kilos of cocaine and two and a half kilos of heroin to Denmark. But first, today he got his punishment by the Court in Glostrup. The verdict was 15 years in prison.

It is a mentalundersøgelse, which has delayed judgment so long. The doctors should find out whether the 32-year-old was insane and should perhaps have a judgment for the treatment or placement at the psychiatric department.

Mentalundersøgelsen struck, however, that the 32-year-old is not crazy in the eyes of the law, and that, therefore, he should be sentenced to an ordinary term of imprisonment.

– It is quite inconceivable that it has taken so long to get made mentalundersøgelsen. My client has been held in custody for two and a half years before, now he has got judgment in the first instance, says the 32-year-defender, lawyer Peter Secher.

Ishtiaq Ahmed Mumtaz, who was born in Denmark, but English citizen with a pakistani background, was therefore given 15 years in prison. He took time for reflection, with regard to the appeal. He was, by the judgment shown continually.

the Verdict was three years longer than what the three previously convicted in the drug case was 5. July 2017, where the judgment of Ishtiaq Ahmed Mumtaz was exposed to mentalundersøgelse.

The 15 years in prison for the 32-year-old is due to Ishtiaq Ahmed Mumtaz had a reststraf on a good three years in prison from a previous narkodom, which was nearly laid on top in the penalty.

In 2010, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in a narcotics-league, which smuggled heroin to Denmark. Police swooped to, then a courier took a paint bucket from his car trunk. Hidden under a Dutch adhesive for tiles lay three bags, each with a kilo of heroin.

Prosecutor Anne Mills imposed the in court the assertion of a penalty of 17 years in prison, including reststraffen from the previous judgment.

the Prosecutor says to Ekstra Bladet, that the reason why mentalundersøgelsen of the 32-year-old drew so long out, was due to the lack of space in the secured psychiatric departments.

But the court noted that it was a mitigating circumstance that the case was drawn out for so long. Therefore, given a certain discount in the judgment.

– I am satisfied that the court has meted out a lengthy prison sentence, which reflects that it is a very serious matter to have an overarching and guiding role in the organized smuggling of large quantities of cocaine and heroin, said prosecutor Anne Mills.

Defender Peter Secher thought in its procedure, to 12 years ‘ imprisonment was appropriate.

the Court in Glostrup considered that Ishtiaq Ahmed Mumtaz had a ‘decisive role’ in the drugs-in the league.

the Police had indicted Ishtiaq Ahmed Mumtaz and the previously convicted for smuggling of 53 kilos of cocaine, 2.5 kilos of heroin, but the accused was acquitted of half of the cocaine.

They were also acquitted of the claim that the penalty would be increased by up to half, because there was talk about the particularly aggravating circumstances.

Narkoligaen used a car park at brødfabrikken Schulstad at Avedøre Holme to transfer narkoen, of which several lots were dug down at Hammerholmen and in Rødovre. A green area at Hammerholmen 175 was used as a depot, where large quantities of cocaine were buried and then retrieved in portions on a one to five kilo.

Also in Schweizerdalsparken and Espelunden in Rødovre was cocaine dug down, and it was a drug gang also arsenals with three skarpladte guns, which the police at that time found.
