The Gubrist Tunnel was closed on Thursday evening because of a car fire about an hour in both directions. According to first findings, a car was caught at 17.30 in the tunnel tube in the direction of St. Gallen in fire.
The traffic was building up in front of the two tunnel portals on many kilometers, such as the transport service Viasuisse said, putting a burden on the secondary road network.
