The austrian state will have closer to 15 million for Adolf Hitler’s fødehjem, has a court determined.

Hitler’s fødehjem in the city of Braunau am Inn in Austria has long been a subject of contention. In 2016, a court held that the austrian state could expropriating the house, to paying just over 3 million to the owner, 68-year-old Gerlinde Pommer.

Pommer believed that this was too small and went infringers to court, and on Wednesday, a court in Ried im Innkreis stated that the state will have closer to 15 million.

– She is relieved that she will now receive fair compensation, says lawyer Gerhard Lebitsch.

Adolf Hitler was born in the house 20. april, 1889. Outside the house stands a pillar with the text “For peace, freedom and democracy. Never again fascism, memories of millions of dead us”.

Austrian government wanted to buy the house to prevent it was to get neo-nazis to valfarte to Braunau am Inn.
