Yesterday, the Municipal Swimming Pool Complex was opened. It is the first pool to open in Jaen. This is great news for Ubetans as well as residents from other nearby municipalities. It comes in the middle of a heatwave. The municipal staff worked tirelessly over the past weeks to ensure that the facilities were ready for use on the set date.
The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm and Saturday, Sunday, and holiday from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm. The cost of the service remains the same as last year. It costs 3.20 euros per day for adults over 18, and 4 euros for full days on holidays, weekends, and Sundays. For those aged under 18, retirees, and pensioners, it is 2.40 euros per day for Monday through Friday, and 3 euros for holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Subscriptions are available for 26 euros for 10 bathrooms if you are over 18 years old and 17 euros for 10 bathrooms if you are under 18 years, retired people and pensioners. Other groups, such as those with functional differences, the unemployed and large families, are eligible for special prices.
Free swimming is available from Monday through Friday, from 12 noon to five in afternoon, and Saturdays from one to twelve (in the second fortnight August only, from Monday to Friday, from twelve to twelve). It costs 1.40 euros an hour.
Pedro Jesus Lopez, the Councilor for Sports, stated that summer activities are receiving great public acceptance, as evidenced by the large number of registrations processed by the Sports Area. He stressed that the Urban Camp has seen 660 registrations of minors, which is an “absolute record”. There are 131 people who have signed up for the aquagym shifts. 50 are for children’s swim and 30 are for school swimming. These numbers are expected to grow as there is still one week before the start the summer sports program.
The Councilor for Sports called for respect and responsibility from all pool users, in order to ensure that they enjoy the facilities in the best possible conditions.
