The inhabitants of Innerrhoden country Ammann and CVP national councillor Daniel Fässler will be the Council of States. The election of a substitute for the resigning Ivo Bischofberger (CVP) to the rural municipality of 28. April in Appenzell instead.
Bishop Berger had announced two weeks ago his resignation as a councillor. After more than 30 years in politics, he no longer wanted to go into the elections in the autumn, explained the 61-year-old CVP-politicians in his step.

On Friday, Daniel Fässler announced his candidacy. He had been asked by several pages, if he wanted to stand for the vacant seat in the Council of States available, and I have decided after careful Consideration, it says in the Communiqué.
The 58-year-old Fässler has been sitting for seven years for the CVP in the national Council and Director is to render the country Ammann (President of the government) of Appenzell Innerrhoden. The doctor of lawyer is in charge of the Department of economic Affairs. (Dec/sda)
