did you Know that the wombat square shit running? Or that the giraffe only small droppings produces? Two of the nineteen animals that “model” were for the collection of which the Zoerselse juweelartieste Danielle Goffa (67) put together. For one gem, one necklace, she took her inspiration from by the Gent An De Kimpe, who nine years ago was told that they have colon cancer in the worst stage. of course, That was no problem. “Manure is for us like gold,” says zoo director Linda Van Elsacker. “It is a passport for the animals: what they eat, for their health, whether or not they are pregnant. There you do not always need a microscope to pick up. You can a lot of with the naked eye to see. The firmness, the color and the smell tell us a lot.”
