At PostNL may the coming weeks be discontinued. That, the court in the Hague this afternoon decided in a summary judgment that PostNL had brought against a trade union FNV.

PostNL was to the right stepped, because the FNV announced strikes in the busy month of December to “damage and risk”. The company argued during the hearing that the strike millions of euros in direct damage. Also, consumers would be severely harmed by the huge delay of mail and parcels.

Further actions according to PostNL is premature because there is still being negotiated. Three other unions that also negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement, see nothing in actions. FNV argued correctly that there is no movement on collective bargaining, and that strikes are inevitable. FNV is disagree with the judgment of the court, but will obey.

“Harassment”

Ger Deleij, director FNV Public Interest: “PostNL seems to now have been meaning to get to, but this is the discontent and unrest of the job. Many workers consider this step of PostNL as an unacceptable form of intimidation that does not fit a company that is always as social profiles. We go together with our members to discuss how PostNL however, such pressure may be that there is a decent collective agreement.”

PostNL is pleased with the ruling and hopes that the FNV just like the other unions to quickly return to the table slide to talk about a new collective bargaining agreement.
