the Takeaway company Just Eat Takeaway has agreed to buy u.s. Grubhub.

It publishes the company, which is an association of Danish Just Eat and Dutch Takeaway.com on Wednesday, writes the news agency Reuters.

doing so will Just Eat Takeaway become the world’s largest company in the field of online meal delivery outside of China.

Just Eat Takeaway buys Grubhub for 7.3 billion u.s. dollars, equivalent to nearly 48 billion dollars.

There is talk about a pure stock trading, which is not paid in cash between the companies, but with shares in Just Eat Takeaway.

the deal will create a company that is ‘built around the world’s four largest profitpuljer in the field of catering: the UNITED states, the united kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany,’ writes the companies in a unified press release.

Before the deal tried Uber, which operates takeawayplatformen Uber Eats, to buy Grubhub without any luck.

Just Eat, which the Danish entrepreneur Jesper Buch is the co-founder of, merged with the Dutch Takeaway.com earlier in the year in a trade to a value of 7.6 billion u.s. dollars, equivalent to almost 50 billion dollars.

the Takeaway-the company writes that it expects to close the deal officially in the first quarter of 2021.

Last year generated Just Eat Takeaway of 11,1 billion dollars, while Grubhub traded for nearly nine billion dollars.
