Herenthout Last Friday were Vogelopvangcentrum (VOC) Neteland in Herenthout and some exotic birds introduced. The severely neglected dogs were found in the vicinity of Turnhout. The cages were not uitgekuist, the birds were sitting in a dark room and a small parrot was even in a sweaterbox.

“We hope that the animals definitively be assigned,” says Mieke de Wit of The Dutch east india company. “ Then we can have a good new home for the birds. It is a lori from the Blue Mountains, a zwartenkarassari, and two parakeets.”

“We are not there for people to judge, but give this message: who an animal wants to keep, must know where he or she begins. Maintenance is crucial, and an animal holding costs money,” says White.
