Fine, it should be, but the faces on According to the inspection reports has been a somewhat strained smile after an unannounced supervision at the Hotel Royal in the Smiling City of Aarhus.
the City’s renowned four-star hotel, which is located right in the heart of the capital of Jutland near the Cathedral and the Latin quarter, has scored five ugly penalties of fødevaremyndighederne.
There was, for example, black mold coatings inside isterningemaskinen. A place where there just should be cleaned, otherwise, the ice cubes turned into small bakteriebomber.
There was found a large number of fruit flies in opvaskeafdelingen.’ The fda tolerates a small number of flies, but turns to with a formal sanction if the incidence is too violent.
Some snakes in the bakery department was dirty, and so was the gal with the maintenance. There were cracks and holes in the kitchen floor and the countertop and the walls were in a condition where surfaces were difficult to clean.
Paint in kølerummets ceiling was peeling, so it could fall down in the food.
Fødevarekontrollen provided otherwise in January, the hotel has a gently lifted the index finger: Message to replace some frayed, mold-coated rubber strips in the door to the cold room. And the message to maintain the fixtures, including ceilings, so it could be cleaned – and so the paint could not peel off and fall down into the food.
But the hotel failed to abide by the friendly advice, so therefore, it was to formal sanctions at the last visit 29. may. Cuisine the hotel is not up, it becomes decidedly acid, smiley faces, next time Fødevarekontrollen comes to visit.
And it makes Fødevarekontrollen in fact, twice – to check, whether there have come track of the cases.
Hotel Royal: Not our responsibility
Ekstra Bladet has asked for an interview with the open during out stay Lilian Lenbroch, but she didn’t.
She argues in an email, that it is the restaurateur, she has leased the restaurant of the hotel Atrium to be interviewed.
’It is not the Hotel Royal, who operates the restaurant, the Atrium,’ she writes.
But in the hotel industry it is normal practice to lease the restaurantdriften, so also not according to the Fda release the hotel to be liable for criticism.
the Agency has given penalties to both the Atrium Restaurant and Hotel Royal Aarhus A/S.
Yet still maintains it to be without responsibility.
’… the Cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and restaurant are outside the Hotel Royal responsibilities, which we have communicated to the Fødevarekontrollen. As a consequence of the good dialogue with Fødevarekontrollen we expect that Hotel Royal will be deleted as the recipient of the criticism,’ hope Mads Richard Aggerholm Pedersen, who is ceo at Royal Hotel and casino, located in the same building.
But even though the hotel got the penalties for soon three weeks ago, the authorities have not drawn criticism back.
the Tenant of Atrium writes:
’On all the criticisms about the maintenance of the cooler and cracks in the floor and the bakery is contacted personnel who repair the said damage so as to meet the requirements.’
’With respect isterningmaskinen we have a standard maintenance plan which is part of our normal hygiejneplan that will be observed. It has not proven to be frequent enough, so here to be stepped up.’
’We have always been in good dialogue with the Danish veterinary and food administration and in cooperation with them we get as soon as possible executed the maintenance plan and expect the whole happy smiley at the next visit,’ writes the Atrium.
Mads Richard Aggerholm Pedersen writes:
’We have, since the report, had a positive internal dialogue (Between the Royal and the lessee) on this unfortunate situation, of course, must not be repeated, as the leased restaurant in many ways is linked to the Hotel Royal.’
